The Christmas calendar officially kicks off with the switch-on of this year's awesome Christmas lights on Thursday 16 November, adding festive sparkles and colour to the city centre, and highlighting the beginning of late-night shopping. Join us for an exciting programme of free, family-friendly entertainment to enjoy on stage in the Piazza. There will be lots of festive fun and entertainment, from the Party Princesses to local dance and singing groups. Santa and his Elves will be on stage with special guests, who will be joining the Lord Mayor in switching on the fabulous Christmas lights - marking the start of Christmas in Plymouth! The evening will finish with a lively performance from the brilliant Ocean City Groove, who will have the crowds dancing and singing along to their ten piece funk, disco, soul and party band – playing big hits for everyone to enjoy..
